Weird Glitch in Win10

I had an issue with a laptop that wasn't usable. The processor and disk use was all pushing out to 100 percent.

So I check the net and found a solution that actually worked. I found it here:
https://www.drivereasy.com/knowledge/100-disk-usage-windows-10-fixed/#g

Other options could also fix the issue, but I found that Fix 6# that was submitted by a reader called Javier, which I feel like I may have used something from this user before.

So follow these steps:

Fix your StorAHCI.sys driver

  1. We need to find out what the device name is for the hard drive. Right click your mouse on the start button on the bottom left. When the menu opens, click on the option "Device Manager"
  2. Find and expand the "IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers" category and find the device "Standard SATA AHCI Controller".
  3. Go to the Drive tab for the device, and click on "Driver Details". If you can see storahci.sys stored in a path of system32 folder, then you are running the inbox AHCI driver.
  4. Close the driver details window and click on the "Details" page., In the Property area, dropdown the list and find "Device Instance path". Below this will be the label Value of the device. It should start with "VEN_". Leave this window open, so you can refer back to it.
  5. Head back down to the start button and right click and select "Run". In the run window start up regedit so you can start changing some registration settings.
  6. You will need to drill down through the reg settings and head to here:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Enum\PCI\ <VEN_>\Device Parameters\Interrupt Management\MessageSignaledInterruptProperties
Where <VEN_> is the device name that you found earlier.

Hold the Alt key on your keyboard and tap the Tab key to switch between windows so you can look for the device name that matches in the list of devices.
  7.  Change the value in the key list MSISupported to 0
  8. Restart the PC and it should be all good :)
